Match Review MFLCC QF1 | Kelantan Darul Naim FC 1-5 Selangor FC | Perfect Start For Our First #MFLChallengeCup2024-25 Match

Selangor FC secured a 5-1 victory against Kelantan Darul Naim (KDN) FC in the first leg Quarter Finals of the 2024/25 MFL Challenge Cup at the MBPJ Stadium, Kelana Jaya yesterday.

Five goals were scored by three different scorers. Ronnie Fernandez opened the scoring for Selangor FC by flicking in a low cross from Quentin Cheng as early as the 2nd minute of the match. Quentin Cheng again made a good pass to assist Mukhairi Ajmal to score his first goal of the night in the 37th minute before the end of the first half. The Red Giants continued to score through Mukhairi Ajmal three minutes into the second half, courtesy of Ronnie Fernandez's quick feet and through ball to him. However, KDN FC also scored a goal through Arip Aminuddin in the 70th minute. Not long after, Ronnie Fernandez continued the scoring in the 73rd minute after finishing a precise pass from Faisal Halim. The last goal of the #KDASFC match was scored by Quentin Cheng in the 79th minute via a first time pass from Yohandry Orozco.

According to Katsuhito Kinoshi, head coach of Selangor FC, he was happy with the performance shown by the players.

"I am happy with this victory, the players showed the style of play that I want and got the victory from it. I am very satisfied with all the players including those on the bench. We, the coaching staff, always make it a point on which players should be given more playing time, so I gave the young players the opportunity to play most of the second half yesterday." He explained.

Next week, the team will face two matches; December 17th against Perak FC in the Super League at Stadium Manjung at 8:30 pm and December 22nd, the second Quarter-Final of the Challenge Cup match at Stadium MBPJ, Kelana Jaya at 9 pm.

The management is happy that the team is increasingly compatible with the football philosophy brought by new head coach Katsuhito Kinoshi. Hopefully they will continue to give their best to maintain the best position in the 2024/25 Malaysia League.

Demi Kebanggaan.
